The Designers

Elliot Mereski

Keeping up with the newest styles, techniques, and technology in the jewellery industry is a passion for me. When I started my career in 1999 I was using the old-school methods of hand carving and rubber moulds. This gives me a unique perspective in my field because I had the opportunity to evolve with the tools I use, like laser welders and CAD design.  I was lucky to have a Dad who wanted to be at the cutting edge, and we always made the risk, effort, and expense to get the best tools possible. I was the young, ambitious kid who got to play with the new toys and figure it all out.

I would say my design style best suits customers who want to get creative, decorative, and unique with their jewellery. I love intertwined colours of gold, lots of movement, and intricate details. The same ideas apply to an engagement ring, family ring or a men's wedding band. My design style shines best when you want to end up with something you won't see anywhere else. My favourite projects are when a customer comes in and asks me for something I’ve never done before or is a technical challenge for me to build. When a customer says “I’ve never seen something like this, but is (Very funky idea) possible?” That is music to my ears. A customer can always come in with no idea and I’m happy to draw off the top of my head and experiment with them. I love to be challenged and have my boundaries pushed as a designer and goldsmith.

Another strong suit would be my ideas of incorporating sentimental elements into jewellery made from family gold or to memorialize a special person. My goal is to have something that looks cool enough for somebody to notice but subtle enough that the wearer could tell the story of how the detail here represents the people and milestones they want to memorialize.

Kelsey Mohsin

There is something to be said about the classics. Treasured pieces of jewellery that remain timeless as they are passed down to each new generation. Often I connect best with customers that want to create something that will never go out of style, but still has its own unique twist. I like designing the staples that will get worn daily, and become your signature pieces for years to come.

I love incorporating colored stones as unconventional alternatives for engagement rings, combined with clean and simple settings that let the stone do all the talking. I tend to gravitate towards vintage details such as filigree, floral, and art deco elements to give your pieces their own flare and individuality. I want the jewellery I design to highlight the distinct aspects of the person you are.

Step 2: Concept

When you first come in to discuss a concept, we recommend having a rough idea, drawings, or a few inspiration pictures for us to work off of. Spending some time on places like Pinterest, Instagram, Facebook, or our website gallery here can be great starting points to gather those inspiration pictures. These don’t need to be too specific, they just help us to get in your head and see what styles you are most attracted to. From there we can come up with a few drawings together, look at examples of stones and metal options, and compile all the information we need to move on to the next step.

Step 3: Renders

In the weeks following our first consultation, we will use all the information we compiled together to build your piece in our 3D Software. We then sent you renderings, so you can get a much better idea of what your piece will look like when it is done. In this stage, you can make the necessary tweaks and changes to your design to ensure you will love the finished product.

Step 4: Wax

Once you have picked a version or two you like, we can print it off in wax on our 3D printer so you can try it on and see how it looks in person before casting it in metal.

Step 5: Finishing Touches

Once all the decisions have been made, we get your design cast into metal using the lost wax casting method. From there your piece will go to the finishing desks to be sanded, polished, and have any stones set into place. It then goes through a final polish and inspection before we let you know that it is ready to be picked up!
